Epi position paper on ban on patents on NGT plants

Today, the European Patent Institute epi published its Position Paper on NGT Plant Patenting Proposal of the European Parliament here and on linkedin.  

Further to our earlier article, epi expresses significant concerns regarding the proposed exclusion of plants from patentability which was inserted by way of amendments into the pending proposal of Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on plants obtained by certain new genomic techniques.
epi strongly advocates for the necessity of conducting a thorough impact study before any legislative measures are considered.
